Simple Gift Recipe Idea - Monster Cookies

Kyle is an encourager by nature (which is just one of the reasons Ky's Kards is the perfect business for him).  He greets pretty much everyone with a hug and smile, and loves to write out note cards to friends and relatives throughout the month (and give gifts).

He also loves to be in the kitchen cooking or baking with his mom and/or sisters.  So when mom suggested making Monster Cookies as a surprise for his sister Carly's soccer team after their game, he was all in!  Such a simple little "gift" idea that turned out to be a big hit!  Needless to say, the girls loved their yummy monster cookies, and the fact that they were homemade and a gift from Kyle made them that much better!

The monster cookie recipe is one that was given to us by a friend and it's our go-to for cookies.  They're the perfect combination of soft and chewy - or a little more crisp if you bake them longer - and, either way, filled with deliciousness.  We're sharing the written version with you below, and we've also included it at the end of the video.

3 eggs
1 1/4 cups brown sugar
3/4 cup sugar
1 TBSP vanilla
2 tsp soda

1 1/2 cups peanut butter
1 stick butter
4 1/2 cups oatmeal
3/4 cup M & M's
3/4 cup chocolate chips

Mix together: sugars, eggs, vanilla, butter, and peanut butter.

Stir in: Oatmeal and baking soda.

Add: M & M's and chocolate chips.

Bake: at 350 for 10-12 minutes, depending on your oven

Remember, giving gifts doesn't need to be complicated. Whether it's gifts for family, friends, teachers, daycare providers, hostess gifts or an elderly friend in need of a day brightener, it really is the thought that counts!  A simple homemade gift - a favorite recipe or something else you like to make - along with a handwritten note card will be so appreciated and remembered often.
